This project wants to analyse issues surrounding the notion of the place, the possibility of its perception (and ourselves) through an observation that transcends understanding. It wants to establish relationships between exterior perceptive aspects and interior observation through a process of progressive encounter with the real creative “I”, drawing attention to the border of conscience.
Filipe Garcia - Plastic Arts/Sculpture graduate, currently attending the Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto, were he is attending the Master of Art and Design for the Public Space. Within the different contexts in which he works and problematizes, Garcia attempts to convey, through aesthetic and conceptual proximity relationships, the numerous possibilities of an experimental and intuitive approach, searching spaces for new perspectives and variables within the definitions and comprehension of the paradoxical problems of contemporary art. His most recent work relies on an approach veered towards systemic thinking as a broader mean to comprehend the issues related with the site, the observation and the perception of the work of art in its public/private relationship, fostering the expansion of artistic consciousness as a paramorphic process of reality’s construction.
